PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of an oil-in-water type emulsified composition which uses a polymeric emulsifier, has a fine average particle diameter of an oil drop, and also is stable at room temperature and even at higher temperature. SOLUTION: The method for production of the oil-in-water type emulsified composition includes the step of making a mixture system solubilized, then cooling it to 40°C or below, and thereafter neutralizing it, wherein the system is obtained by mixing a polymer emulsifier (A), which has a hydrophilic constituent unit (a) having a neutralizable functional group, a nonionic hydrophilic constituent unit (b) and a hydrophobic constituent unit (c), an oil component (B) and water (C).
