PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planning method of a gas-solid separator still more enhanced in gas-solid separation state than before. SOLUTION: The gas-solid separator is equipped with an inner cylinder 10, which is closed at its lower end 11 while opened at its upper end 1 and extended in a vertical direction, and the outer cylinder 2, which coaxially covers the inner cylinder 10 from the outside and has a gas venting port 6 communicating with the outside formed thereto on the upper end side of the inner cylinder 10, and a plurality of slots 4 extending in axial direction are formed to the side surface of the inner cylinder 10 on the side of its lower end 11 in the circumference and guide blades 5, which are protruded outward and inclined circumferentially so as to cover the respective slots 4, are provided to one long side edge parts of the respective slots 4. This gas-solid separator is planned as follows. When the cross-sectional average linear velocity of the mixture of the gas and solid particles falling through the inner cylinder is set to 3-30 m/s, the cross-sectional average linear velocity of the mixture of the gas and solid particles discharged from each of the slots is set to 20 m/s or below and the cross-sectional average linear velocity of the gas rising between the gap between the outer and inner cylinders is set to 6 m/s or below at the part where each of the slots is formed.
