PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record video contents desired by a user, and to effectively utilize resources of a hard disk. SOLUTION: If a recording capacity of video contents to be recorded is greater than an idle capacity of a video content recording means 17, by performing control corresponding to the intention of a user by deletion or rate reduction for each scene of a recorded program by a video editing control means 19, the video contents to be recorded can be recorded while securing the recording capacity thereof and if the recording capacity is smaller than the idle capacity of the video content recording means 17, by recording the video contents by a rate increase within a recordable range by the video editing control means 19, recording medium resources are effectively utilized.
