PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw compressor which has simple structure to reduce an installation space, and in which mechanical seal is easily replaced, in a screw compressor for a refrigerating device using refrigerant such as ammonia. SOLUTION: In the screw compressor, a compressor body is constituted by housing a drive screw rotor and a driven screw rotor driven by a rotor drive shaft 10 of a drive motor 9 in a compression chamber of a compressor casing, and a first seal means 2c is disposed to a shaft penetration part 2b of the rotor drive shaft 10 of the compressor casing so as to block the inside of a motor casing 9a of the drive motor 9 from the compression chamber of the compressor casing. A partition board 17 having a shaft through hole 17a of the rotor drive shaft 10 is interposed between the motor casing 9a and the compressor casing, and a gas discharge passage 14 connecting the shaft penetration part 2b of the rotor drive shaft 10 with the outside of the compressor is formed between the compressor casing and the partition board 17.
