DAMPING STRUCTURE OF BUILDING AND FURRING STRIP WITH DAMPING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping structure of buildings effectively transmitting vibration energy to a viscoelastic sheet interposed between a skeleton frame and a wall panel during earthquake for enhancing damping effect. SOLUTION: In this structure, a viscoelastic body is interposed between the skeleton frame and the wall panel of the building. Furring strips with damping function formed by stackingly adhering a thin sheet, the viscoelastic body, and a band plate in this order are installed parallel to each other with the thin sheet placed on the skeleton frame side. The wall panel so disposed that the longitudinal direction of the furring strip with damping function is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the wall panel is secured to the band plate to indirectly fix the wall panel to the thin sheet through the viscoelastic body. The band plates are allocated with a predetermined length. The band plates are so restrained to the skeleton frame in the out-of-plane direction that each of the allocated band plates can be rotated in the inplane direction relative to the skeleton frame.
