PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact air bag economical to manufacture. SOLUTION: An occupant crash protection air bag 10 comprises a left-half air bag 14 having an inner panel 22 and a right-half air bag 12 having an inner panel 24. One or more outer panels 26 and 28 are provided, and a seam allowance is provided in at least one of inner panels 22 and 24 when the left and right inner panels 22 and 24 are stitched together. When the air bag 10 is inflated, the seam allowance extends into an inside part of the air bag 10, and controls inflation of the air bag 10 in the vertical direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
