PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense a breakage even in the case where a signal cable is broken and makes an input port of a reception side board happen to get into the same input level condition as a regular control command. SOLUTION: The game machine 1 outputs an electrical signal showing a pattern display command to make a pattern display device 21 make a varying display by processing at S20 in a main control board 41. When the pattern display command is not to be output (S10), the game machine outputs an electrical signal showing "00H" by processing at S40, whereby the voltage level of a data output terminal from which the pattern display command is output reaches a low level (0 V for example). In a performance control board 55, the game machine judges whether or not the voltage level of a data input terminal is a high level (5 V for example). When the condition that the level is judged to be high continues for a prescribed period (1 second for example), the game machine displays that there is a breakage between the main control board 41 and the performance control board 55 by the pattern display device 21.
