The invention relates to a method and a system for determining the equivalent resistance of an energy store. This involves detecting the time profile of current I through the element and the voltage U_Cell dropping across the element, and also the temperature J of the element cell by means of measurement. The equivalent resistance of the energy store is ascertained on the basis of the energy balance with reference to a simplified equivalent circuit diagram.
