The electromechanical escapement device (9) is associated with an electronic circuit (10) having a quartz oscillator (104) and calculation means (105) suitable for calculatig the difference between the period of the quartz oscillator and the period of a mechanical oscillator (119) and releasing an escape wheel (112), normally controlled by said mechanical oscillator, when the difference between said periods is greater than a threshold value.
