<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve communication speed of a communication system by incorporating Outer-ARQ function. <P>SOLUTION: The communication method transmits packets from a transmitter 110 to a receiver 120. The packet that is transmitted has such information as indicates no discrimination information and no division information executed. When a re-transmission request is received about the specified packet that has been transmitted from the receiver 120, re-transmission of the specified packet or re-transmission of a plurality of sub division packets, provided by dividing the specified packet, is executed.
