PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network device, a terminal device, a program and a recording medium by which an interface on a side to receive instructions can easily designed and installed even when there are a plurality of software programs on a side to send the instructions. SOLUTION: The network device 10, which is connected to one or more terminal devices 108 through a network 107 and operates hardware parts 104 and 106 unique to the device itself according to instructions from the terminal devices 108, has an interface means of communicating with the one or more terminal devices 108 by using the same protocol. The interface means receives the instructions for operating the hardware parts 104 and 106 unique to the device itself from a plurality of kinds of software programs executed on the one or more terminal devices 108 and operates the hardware parts 104 and 106 unique to the device itself according to the instructions.
