PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element for heavy fuel oil of a marine diesel engine, a filter, and a filtering device, which surely collect spherical solid impurities contained in heavy fuel oil of the marine diesel engine such as alumina, silica and remaining carbon, increase an opening ratio of a filtering hole for collecting the impurities, miniaturize the filtering device as a result, prevent deterioration of filtering efficiency caused by adhesion of the adhesive impurities such as the remaining carbon by eliminating a crater formed on an inner surface of the filtering hole and smoothing the inner surface, and surely remove not only the alumina and the silica collected by the filtering hole by back washing but also the adhesive remaining carbon. SOLUTION: The filter is constituted of: a filter element 3 having a plurality of the filtering holes 2A on a nickel thin film 2 at intervals; a lattice shaped reinforcing member 4 bonded to both surfaces of the filter element 3; and a frame member 5 fixed on both surfaces of the lattice shaped reinforcing member 4. The filtering hole 2A is formed to an oblong hole in order to improve the opening ratio, and is extended in a horn shape from an inlet side to an outlet side of the heavy fuel oil.
