<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid developing device capable of preventing the accumulation of toner particles in a developing unit resulting from a long time use, then, capable of obtaining a good image without any image quality deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a detection sensor 10 for detecting the thickness of a toner layer on a toner carrier 20, and the thickness of the toner layer on the toner carrier 20 after ending the final image formation, and also, after ending a toner peeling operation is detected by the sensor 10, and the duty ratio and/or frequency of the AC voltage of the toner carrier 20 in the middle of a printing operation is controlled based on the detection results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
