PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the structural stability and life of a welded tube shaft while reducing the manufacturing cost thereof. SOLUTION: The endpiece for the welded tube shaft comprises a central axis (X-X); a first axial part 10 having a first end 14, that is a connecting end; and a second axial part 12 that is tubular and adapted to be welded to a tube 8. The second axial part 12 defines a second free end 18, and has an outer surface 22, an inner surface 24, and an end wall surface 26 defined by an end-wall generatrix. The inner surface 24 has a shape that flares toward the second free end 18, and is defined by an inner generatrix inside different from the end-wall generatrix.
