PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the posture of the barrel-shaped roller of a self-aligning roller bearing and to reduce the pressure of rolling contact between an inner race and the barrel-shaped roller. SOLUTION: Each raceway surface 2 of the inner race 1 is formed of two conical surfaces 2a, 2b. The barrel-shaped roller 5 is brought into contact with the raceway surface 2 at two points P<SB>1</SB>, P<SB>2</SB>so as to prevent the roller-shaped barrel 5 from skewing or tilting and stabilize its posture, while also dispersing the pressure of rolling contact between the inner ring 1 and the barrel-shaped roller 5 to the two points of contact P<SB>1</SB>, P<SB>2</SB>to reduce the pressure.
