PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the construction easiness and safety by forming a hanging smoke barrier into a simple seismic isolation structure. SOLUTION: This hanging smoke barrier 1 is provided with a glass block 11, or a support portion, at its upper end, and rotary grips 27 having projecting hanging smoke barrier support arms 26 in the both sides of an opening part in the lower part of a suspension frame 3; and the rotary grips are rotatably fitted in receiving seats 28, rotated by the dead weight and supported on support stoppers 31 of the suspension frame. When the upper end of this hanging smoke barrier is pushed into the opening of the frame, the support arms of the rotary grips are pushed upward and opened as shown in Figs.(b)-(c), then the rotary block is returned to its original position by the dead weight in the state in Fig.(d), and the support arms are supported on the stoppers as shown in Fig.(e). A structure inserting the upper end of the hanging smoke barrier therein with a leaf spring or the like and returning and supporting it by its resilient force is adopted as the support structure of the hanging smoke barrier.
