An air conditioning system capable of cooling and heating the inside of a room by switching between the cooling and heating and by using a refrigeration cycle performed by compressing refrigerant to a level not less than a critical pressure, in which the thickness of a refrigerant connection tube is limited to a minimum level. The air conditioning system (1) has a compressor (21), a first heat source side heat exchanger (22) for heating or cooling the refrigerant, a second heat source side heat exchanger (23) for exchanging heat between the refrigerant and a heat transmission medium, a first utilization side heat exchanger (41) for cooling the inside of the room by the refrigerant cooled by the first heat source side heat exchanger (22), a second utilization side heat exchanger (51) for heating the inside of the room by the heat transmission medium having undergone heat exchange by the second heat source side heat exchanger (23), and a connection mechanism (24). The connection mechanism (24) can change connection state between a first connection state and a second connection state. In the first connection state, the refrigerant is circulated in the compressor (21), the first heat source side heat exchanger (22), the first utilization side heat exchanger (41), and the compressor (21), in that order. In the second connection state, the refrigerant is circulated in the compressor (21), the second heat source side heat exchanger (23), the first heat source side heat exchanger (22), and the compressor (21), in that order.
