<p>The present invention provides methods for identifying compounds that selectively and specifically modulate RGS21 gene expression, RGS21 protein expression, and/or the interaction of RGS2 I with G proteins in taste signal transduction. In particular, the present invention provides methods for identifying modulators of RGS21 activity for enhancing sweet taste, or other taste perception. Compositions comprising modulators of RGS21 activity for modulating taste signaling transduction are also provided.</p> |
