An apparatus and a method for processing data of a color print system are provided to obtain a high quality image and to process relatively little amount of image data by transforming RGB data into K data. A data producing device(100) receives scope data from a user, and if an RGB value of an RGB object corresponding to a target image is involved within the scope data, the data producing device produces K data. Otherwise, it produces RGB data. A color printer(200) receives the RGB data or K data including image data, and forms a color image corresponded with the image data onto a record sheet.
