A compressor is provided to obtain sufficient intake amount of refrigerant when a drive shaft rotates at a high speed by sucking the refrigerant of a swash plate chamber when a piston is positioned at a bottom dead point. A compressor comprises a drive shaft(150) which has a pathway(151) formed therein. The pathway(151) has at least one inlet(152) formed therein. A swash plate(160), which rotates in a swash plate chamber(136), is slantingly coupled with the drive shaft(150). Front and rear cylinder blocks(130,140) have intake pathways(132,142) formed therein. A plurality of pistons(170) reciprocate in cylinder bores(131,141). Front and rear housings(110,120) are coupled with two sides of the front and rear cylinder blocks(130,140). Valve units(190) are interposed between the front and rear cylinder blocks(130,140) and between the front and rear housings(110,120). A slot is formed in at least one of the cylinder bores(131,141) so that the cylinder bore is connected to the swash plate chamber(136) when the piston(170) is positioned at a bottom dead point.
