PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider having a magnetic head mounted thereon, more specifically, a magnetic head slider having a lunate relief pattern in the floating surface of the slider, and achieving low floating in a stable floating posture while preventing adsorption, and a magnetic disk device having the magnetic head slider mounted thereon. SOLUTION: A plurality of lunate shapes or relief patterns similar to lunate shapes are formed in the floating surface of the magnetic head slider, and the projected parts of the relief patterns are arranged toward the flow-out side of air generated between a magnetic disk which is a recording medium and the slider.
