PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a content playback system capable of operating connected devices. SOLUTION: The video playback system includes a VCR, a PVR and a TV. It operates the devices after receiving instructions in remote control codes from a remote control. The instructions are also sent to the input selector/the timing regulator and the input to the TV is switched to input 1 or input 2. The input 1 from the VCR is also input to the PVR and stored in the memory. The video/audio signals based on the input from the VCR are output to the TV and the PVR in parallel. At the start timing of the output from the VCR, the output to the TV is switched from input 1 to input 2. The input 2 is the signals to be sent from input 1 to the memory 13 and stored temporarily in the memory 13 and sent to the TV 21.
