PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece with a bowl-shaped sound source built into the interior of the small-sized portable timepiece to materialize a new tone color that lingers long. SOLUTION: This timepiece is equipped with a movement 11 for measuring time to display it, the bowl-shaped sound source 910 for producing sound by being hit with a hammer, a sound source fixing plate 920 for fixing the sound source 910 to the movement 11, and a hitting control means for moving the hammer. The sound source 910 is equipped with a bottom part 912 and a side wall 911. Part of the movement 11, the hammer, and the control means are disposed in an internal space of the sound source 910. The fixing plate 920 is mounted on a bottom part 912 of the sound source 910 at its center. Further, the fixing plate 920 is used for fixing the sound source to a clock mechanism in such a manner that it is movable by a prescribed distance within limits that keep it out of contact with an external case 1A and the movement 11 when the sound source 910 is hit with the hammer.
