PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger having side plates capable of stably brazing tubes, fins and the side plate, with respect to the heat exchanger capable of preventing fracture of a joining portion of the tubes and core plates of the side plates, and being easily manufactured. SOLUTION: In this heat exchanger comprising the plurality of tubes 2 in which a heat exchange medium passes, the plurality of fins 3 alternately stacked on the tubes and increasing heat transfer of the heat exchange medium, the core plates 5a connected with both end portions of the tubes 2, and the long side plates disposed at an outer side in the stacking direction with respect to the end fin 3a disposed at the outermost side in the stacking direction of the fins 3 and connected with the core plates 5a, at least one of the side plates 7 has a plurality of bridging portions 7c, 7d at an intermediate part in the longitudinal direction, and at least one part 7d of the bridging portions is provided with a slit 7e cut after brazing the tubes and the fins.
