PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyether having excellent transparency by reducing an impurity content in a polyether phase in removing a water-soluble compound from a polyether containing the water-soluble compound by extraction with water and a method for suppressing white turbidity of a water phase in oil-water separation after strong stirring of a polyether with water when the water-soluble compound is extracted and the remaining water-soluble compound is reduced. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a polyether comprising a process for extracting a water-soluble compound with water from a polyether containing the water-soluble compound and removing the water-soluble compound, the method for producing the polyether includes at least operations of mixing with sodium sulfate and separation of a polyether phase from a water phase.
