LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to discharge a gate off voltage floated to a pixel electrode by a storage capacitor through a data line connected through a second conductive pattern and a second parasitic capacitor of a repair line to repair bad pixels in a structure having a polarizing plate for a wide viewing angle and a liquid crystal layer with high permittivity. Gate lines(102) are formed on a substrate. Data lines cross the gate lines, having a gate insulator film between the gate lines and the data lines, to define pixel areas. Thin film transistors are connected with the data lines and the data lines. Pixel electrodes(122) are formed at the pixel areas, connected with the thin film transistors. A first conductive pattern(140) is overlapped with one side of the pixel electrode partially and overlapped with the data line adjacent to one side of the pixel electrode. A second conductive pattern is overlapped with the other side of the pixel electrode partially. A storage capacitor is connected with the second conductive pattern. The pixel electrode receives a pixel signal from the data line overlapped with the first conductive pattern.
