PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception device to be mounted on a vehicle, which outputs audio matching user's preference. SOLUTION: Character information included in a broadcast wave of FM multiplex broadcasting is extracted by a channel selection/character information extraction unit 112 of an FM multiplex broadcast receiver 110, and is stored as received character information in a received character information storage unit 121. Input character information that a user inputs through a character information input unit 131 is stored in an input character information storage unit 132. For example, when a character information comparison unit 141 judges that a musical piece name of the input character information matches a musical piece name included in the received character information, a control unit 150 controls the channel selection state of a channel selection/audio signal demodulation unit 111 of the FM multiplex broadcast receiver 110 so that a program broadcasting the musical piece is listened to. The control unit 150 controls an audio output switching unit 104 so that a sound source for audio output from a speaker 106 is switched to the FM multiplex broadcast receiver 110.
