PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitator for facilitating the determination of abnormality including exfoliation of a surface elastic-wave element from a container, a lack of a liquid in the container, etc., a method for determining its abnormality, and an analyzer. SOLUTION: This agitator 20 is equipped with the surface elastic-wave element 27 provided in the container 5 with the liquid held therein to generate a sound wave toward the liquid and drive parts 24 and 25 driving the elastic-wave element, and agitates the liquid by the sound wave. The method for determining its abnormality, and the analyzer are provided. The agitator 20 is equipped with a detection circuit 26 detecting reflected power reflected from the elastic-wave element and a determination part 23a determining whether or not there is any abnormality based on the reflected power detected by the detection circuit. The determination part determines there is an abnormality if a prescribed value is exceeded by a difference between on-drive reflected power reflected from the elastic-wave element during driving and reference reflected power of the elastic-wave element at the same drive frequency.
