PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine in which the workability of shuttle matching work is improved. SOLUTION: The sewing machine 1 comprises needles 8 and 9 to be vertically moved along one axis, horizontal hooks 10 and 11 provided inside a sewing machine bed 41 and rotated by a hook shaft to cooperate with the needles 8 and 9 and form stitches; a hook shaft base for supporting the horizontal hooks 10 and 11 to freely adjust the arrangement positions of the horizontal hooks 10 and 11; and a cover members 30 and 31 covering the upper part of the horizontal hooks 10 and 11 and freely detachably supported by the sewing machine bed 41. In the sewing machine 1, optical system lenses 33 and 34 provided on the cover members 30 and 31 and a clamp member 51 fixed to a sewing machine frame 4 and capable of holding the cover members 30 and 31 are provided. The clamp member 51 is arranged such that an operator can view the enlarged image of the needles 8 and 9 and the horizontal hooks 10 and 11 by the optical system lenses 33 and 34 when holding the cover members 30 and 31.
