An IC chip having a connection file structure and a method for operating applications thereof are provided to manage effectively a storage space by positioning the connection file structure able to be shared between an application module and a card platform. An application interface is called to execute a first application module(S610). Data of a first storage unit and a second storage unit are checked to extract data necessary to execute the first application module(S620). The first application is executed by using the checked data. The data of the first storage unit and the second storage unit are composed in a connection tree structure.
