An electronically controlled suspension apparatus and controlling method thereof are provided to perform a chassis control by detecting road conditions with a vertical acceleration sensor mounted on the chassis. An electronically controlled suspension apparatus and controlling method thereof comprise first to fourth dampers(31~34) installed on the wheels, a memory(40) storing the skyhook gains to be reflected to the dampers, a sensing part(10) for detecting the vertical acceleration signal of the wheels, and ECU(20) to adjust the damping force of a damper according to the corrected skyhook gain, which is applied by the predetermined correction value to the corresponding skyhook gain. The ECU includes a receiving part(21), an extracting part(22), an estimating part(23), a gain correcting part(24), and a damping force adjusting part(25). |
