Production of container lids (20) with a tear-off foil seal which has a sealing bead is carried out in a sealing station (40). This, or an adjacent work station, is fitted with a unit (46) which produces a thermal image of the bead. An independent claim is included apparatus for producing lids as described which is fitted with a thermal imaging unit. |
