摘要 A method for modeling a size of an ONU(Optical Network Unit) buffer and obtaining a data transmission delay in an EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is provided to design and operate a QoS system by extracting an average transmission delay time of an uplink traffic from a buffering model. A method for modeling a size of an ONU(Optical Network Unit) buffer and obtaining a data transmission delay in an EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) comprises the following several steps. The ONU calculates amount of data uplinked to an ONT(Optical Network Terminal) during interval allocated by the second signal for controlling data transmission interval of the ONU(S610). The ONU calculates amount of data has come into a buffer of the ONU from the allocated interval till receiving the second signal retransmitted(S620). The ONU determines the size of the ONU buffer on the basis of the amount of data calculated in the steps S610 and S620.
