A vertical type platform screen door is provided to prevent dusts from diffusing into a platform and to improve the efficiency of cooling and heating in the platform by enhancing the separation characteristic of the platform and a railroad. A vertical type platform screen door includes a screen(400), a vertical door(410), and an opening and closing unit. The screen separates a platform and a railroad from each other by being installed at the platform. The vertical door is composed of a plurality of door plates(411) to be opened and closed so that passengers get on or off a train through the screen. The opening and closing unit is installed at one side of the screen, transmits power so that the vertical door is opened and closed, and has auxiliary plates at one sides of the door plates to block the gap between a plurality of door plates which are horizontal to the longitudinal cross section of the platform.
