Battery charger with temperature-dependent power control

A battery charger (100) is provided which has a power output (30) to charge a battery. The battery charger (100) comprises a power input (10) and a means (140) for determining a temperature at the battery charger (100). The battery charger (100) then further comprises a controller (110), which is adapted to vary the power output among a plurality of non-zero power levels, in dependence upon the difference between the determined temperature (25) and a reference temperature (130).
