摘要 An image processing apparatus and method, a program, and a recording medium are provided to correct a defective pixel, thereby using the defective pixel even in an image sensor having the defective pixel without disusing the defective pixel. An image processing apparatus comprises an imaging unit, a defect position memory unit(101), a disposition unit(112), a predicted pixel acquisition unit, a predicted coefficient supply unit(106), and an operation unit(105). The imaging unit photographs the image of a subject. The defect position memory unit memorizes the position of a defective pixel of the imaging unit. The disposition unit disposes plural pixels in a predetermined range near the target pixel of the subject image outputted in the imaging unit. The predicted pixel acquisition unit acquires a predicted pixel used in correction when there is the other pixel positioned at a predetermined position opposite to the target pixel out of the disposed pixels and the target pixel is the defective pixel. The predicted coefficient supply unit supplies a predicted coefficient corresponding to the predicted pixel. The operation unit operates the correction value of the target pixel by the product-sum operation of the predicted pixel and the predicted coefficient.
