A marine seismic energy source includes a seismic tow cable 10 configured to be towed by a vessel from one end and a seismic source 22, such as an air gun, coupled to the other end of the tow cable. The seismic source 22 is associated with a depth controller. The depth controller is configured to move the seismic source 22 to a selectable depth in a body of water. The depth controller may be a diving plane 330A and rudder 330B, or alternatively a buoyancy device (130, figure 4) which is selectively filled with water and compressed air. |
