A vibration suppressor using law of inertia and a displacement measuring and recording apparatus using the suppressor are provided to measure displacement of an object in vibrating environment, such as a pile during piling work, accurately. A vibration suppressor(10) using law of inertia comprises a support pad(S) placed on a spring(L1) being positioned on a vibration source(12) or suspended by another spring(L2). The intensity and transmission speed of vibration of the vibration source transmitted to a weight(11) is delayed or reduced due to expansion and contraction of the springs. A vibration-proof magnet(M) controls vibration of the weight in a horizontal direction. The vibration of the support pad is absorbed by the spring and a recording and measuring device(14) mounted on the weight can record or measure displacement of an object(13).
