The machine has a punching station (2) including a bottom table (9) that is fixedly arranged in a frame (5) and a top table (10) that is movable against the bottom table. The bottom table is connected to a regulating device (20) for regulating the punching or embossing pressure. The regulating device has approximately a same base surface as the bottom table, where the regulating device is situated between the base surface of the bottom table and the frame. The regulating device causes a deformation of the bottom table and a feeding of the bottom table towards the top table.
