A method for displaying AD(Advertisement) in a navigator and the navigator thereof is provided to reduce tediousness of a driver driving a congested section and enable the driver to obtain information of shops near a road easily/conveniently by displaying AD data to a navigator screen when a velocity of a vehicle satisfies a preset reference condition. A memory stores geographic data and the AD data related to the geographic data. A controller determines an AD display section by using the velocity of the vehicle, and transfers/displays the AD data stored in the memory during the AD display section. The controller includes a velocity calculator(14c) calculating the velocity of the vehicle, a determiner(14d) determining the AD display section by comparing the calculated velocity with the preset reference condition, and a screen display processor(14e) displaying the AD data related to the geographic data of a current location to whole or preset divided screen. The controller includes an updater(14f) for updating the geographic/AD data, which is received from an information center or a coordinator installed to the roadside, to the memory. |
