The method involves inserting a gas-conducting pipe (1) into a passage (2) of flange plates (3,11), where a molding tool (10) is inserted into the conducting pipe. A ring bulge (6) overlaps an edge (8) of the passage. A flanging (7) is formed at an opposite edge (9) of the passage and directed outwards, by the molding tool under a mechanical radial expansion, so that the edges are clamped between the ring bulge and the flanging. The ring bulge and flanging are manufactured at same time. The passage is manufactured by collar forming of a flange collar (12). An independent claim is also included for a flange-pipe-connection between an exhaust-gas-conducting-pipe and a flange plate at the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine.
