A method and a device for informing a user of information reception in a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) are provided to reduce battery consumption of the PDA and offer convenience to the user by informing the user of various information periodically through a phone module when a PDA module is a standby mode. A phone module(10) generates a reception signal expressing reception of the predetermined information when the predetermined information is received during the standby mode of the PDA module(20). An alarm part(40) performs an alarm operation based on the reception signal, and the phone module outputs the reception signal to the alarm part directly during the standby mode of the PDA module to reduce the battery consumption of the PDA. The alarm part is an LED(Light Emitting Diode) and the phone module outputs the reception signal to the alarm part periodically for a predetermined time. The predetermined information is message reception or absent call reception.
