A digital-analog converter and an image display apparatus are provided to reduce the number of select switches with a simple structure and high conversion accuracy. A digital-analog converter includes an upper register string, a lower register string, an operational amplifier, an upper selector(44), a lower selector(47), a first switch(SW1), an upper capacitor(C), a second switch(SW2), a third switch(SW3), and a control circuit. The upper register string generates a plurality of upper voltage values which correspond to upper bits of an inputted digital signal. The lower register string generates a plurality of lower voltage values which correspond to lower bits of the digital signal. The upper selector selects one upper voltage value corresponding to the upper bit from the plurality of upper voltage values, and outputs the selected one upper voltage value at one input of the operational amplifier. The lower selector selects one lower voltage value corresponding to the lower bit from the plurality of lower voltage values, and outputs the selected one lower voltage value at the other input of the operational amplifier. The first switch is connected to an output of the upper selector. The upper capacitor is connected between the first switch and the one input of the operational amplifier. The second switch is connected between one electrode of the upper capacitor and an output of the operational amplifier. The third switch is connected between the other electrode of the upper capacitor and the output of the operational amplifier. The control circuit controls the first to third switches.
