An apparatus for measuring the electrical energy transmitted to a rail traction unit by a high voltage line is provided to achieve the high level electrical insulation between a high voltage step and a low voltage step of the measuring apparatus. An apparatus for measuring the electrical energy transmitted to a rail traction unit by a high voltage line(1) includes a measuring device(5) for measuring extraction current, and a measuring device(12) for measuring the voltage of power. The measuring devices have low voltage powers(23,24) required for the operation thereof. The low voltage powers are obtained from optical energy converted into the electrical energy. Output signals from the measuring devices are converted into optical signals. The measuring devices are received in an insulator of a loop high voltage cable(L). |
