An image forming control device and a control method thereof are provided to display setting information for a plurality of image formation setting items to a user simply/quickly and enable the user to change the setting information of a driver in a preview mode. A user input part(132) moves a pointer in a screen formed to a display part(134). A driver(120) is equipped with a setting information storing part(122) storing the setting information for a plurality of image formation setting items and operates an image forming device(150) according to the setting information. A controller(110) displays a basic setting information screen having an individual selection area for each setting item, and displays detail setting information for the setting item to the display part in a popup screen when the user places a pointer to one of the selection areas through the user input part. The controller removes the popup screen when the pointer is moved from the selection area.
