A drainage pump for an air conditioner is provided to turn on/off a motor through a mechanical linkage structure to reduce the manufacturing cost, and form a lift stroke of a lift rod smaller than a lift stroke of a float to reduce size of the drainage pump. A water collecting tank collects discharged water generated by operation of an air conditioner. A motor drives an impeller for transferring the collected discharged water to the outside. A pumping switch(160) turns on/off the motor. A float(143) ascends and descends in accordance with a water level in the water collecting tank. A lift rod(141) is connected with the float to open and close a contact point of the pumping switch. The lift rod is connected with the float to move the float up and down along an outer peripheral surface of the lift rod. The lift rod includes a float stopper(147) to move the lift rod up and down, integrated with the float if the float moves up and down over a predetermined range.
