THERMAL BARRIER COATED MATERIALS, METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF, AND METHOD OF COATING USING THEM

A sintered body for a heat barrier coating, a method for preparing the sintered body, a method for forming a heat barrier coating layer by using the sintered body, and a part containing the heat barrier coating layer are provided to improve the durability and strength of the machine part coated with the sintered body, thereby enhancing the reliance and lifetime of the machine part. A sintered body comprises Gd2Zr2O7 doped with 1.0-5.0 wt% of yttria (Y2O3). Preferably the concentration of yttria is 2.2-3.6 wt% to Gd2Zr2O7. The sintered body is prepared by mixing Gd2O3 and the zirconia stabilized with yttria to make a mixture powder; pressure molding the mixture powder to make a molded product; and sintering the molded product. A heat barrier coating layer is prepared by vapor depositing the sintered body on the surface of preform.
