Dyestuffs of formula <FORM:0963519/C4-C5/1> wherein R is phenyl substituted in the m-position by a halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, dialkylsulphonamide or alkyl-sulphone radical and R1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, may be prepared by treating the parent amino-compound with a functional derivative of the appropriate carboxylic acid (e.g. the acid chloride) in an organic solvent at an elevated temperature. In specified compounds, R1 is H and the m-substituent is Me, MeO, Cl, Br or CF3; or R1 is Cl and R is m-tolyl. Specification 592,268 and German Specification 239,543 are referred to.ALSO:Polyester materials, especially polyethylene glycol terephthalates, are dyed with padding liquors or printed with printing pastes containing dispersing or wetting agents, and dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:0963519/D1-D2/1> wherein R is phenyl substituted in the m-position by a halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, dialkylsulphonamide or alkylsulphone radical and R1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom; the materials are dried and subsequently heated at 180-220 DEG C. The wetting agents are those described in Specification No. 854,340. The specified dyestuffs, R1 is H and the m-substituent is Me, MeO, Cl, Br or CF3; or R1 is Cl and R is m-tolyl.
