FIELD: chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for ecologically pure synthesis of bromobenzene. Method involves substitution of one C-H-protons in benzene ring with hypobromous acid generated in situ by effect of mineral acid on a brominating agent comprising a mixture of sodium bromide and sodium bromate wherein this process is carried out at temperature 50-80°C under atmosphere pressure.
