FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves marking north sides of sawed out disks. A line is drawn along the edge of water-conducting tissue, then saw cut radius without bark and radius up to the water-conducting tissue are measured from the annual ring centre in separate radial directions against that line. Water-conducting tissue width is calculated as difference of radius without bark and radius up to the water-conducting tissue at different radial directions. According to weather observations, front lines of prevailing cold winds in winter and warm winds in summer are noted. Relative water-conducting tissue width is calculated as a ratio of water-conducting tissue width to the saw cut radius without bark in respective radial directions. Further statistic regularities of changes in saw cut radius without bark and radius up to the water-conducting tissue edge, water-conducting tissue width and relative water-conducting tissue width are recognised. ^ EFFECT: improved precision of determination of tree model water-conducting tissue width behavior depending on prevailing winds. ^ 4 cl, 3 dwg, 3 tbl, 1 ex |
